ABSTRACT

CITIES International Conference is an annual international conference organized by the Urban and Regional Planning Department of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS Surabaya). The conference, which debuted in 2005, serves as a platform for academics and practitioners to present, disseminate, and discuss research results in the field of urban and regional planning. Through the efforts of all involved, CITIES has grown from a primarily national conference to one that attracts a diverse, worldwide audience from the Asian, European, Australian, and American continents.CITIES International Conference 2022 will focus on the theme "Future Challenges of the System of Cities”. This theme is important because cities do not grow in isolation, but have interdependent relationships with regions, countries and continents on a larger scale. These relationships must be studied in depth to ensure that urban areas can grow evenly without causing negative effect in the surrounding area. Additionally, this theme also prompts us to examine why production and consumption activities are concentrated or distributed in urban areas of different sizes and compositions. Furthermore, this theme also leads us to explore why the gap between cities, in terms of both skills to income, must be addressed in a measured and careful manner. With this need in mind, CITIES International Conference 2022 is designed to be a meeting place for stakeholders, including academics, researchers, practitioners and bureaucrats, both within and beyond national boundaries. The conference aims to disseminate research results and practical experiences at local, national and global levels, and to share insight and recommendations on improving the quality of city system in the future.CITIES International Conference 2022 was organized in collaboration with the World Planning School Congress (WPSC) and the Asian Planning School Association (APSA) as a joint congress from August 30th to September 2nd, 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions caused by high numbers of cases, especially in Indonesia, the event was held virtually using the Zoom platform.List of Sponsor Funding Acknowledgements, Committees, Rundown Cities International Conference 2022 "Future Challenges of the System Of Cities”, Conference Photograps are available in this Pdf.

ABSTRACT

PrefaceThe 16th International Conference on the Modelling of Casting, Welding, and Advanced Solidification Processes (MCWASP XVI) was held from June 18 to 23, 2023, in Banff, Canada, at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Founded in 1933, the Centre in Treaty 7 Territory within Banff National Park—Canada's first National Park—is a learning organization built upon an extraordinary legacy of excellence in artistic and creative development. The "all-inclusive” nature of the conference and the remote setting meant that participants dined, attended oral and poster presentations, and participated in social activities as a group, fostering outstanding opportunities for networking.Given that the MCWASP community had not met in person since 2015 in Japan (the 2020 edition of MCWASP was virtual owing to COVID-19), the 2023 conference provided the opportunity to renew old friendships and make new ones as well as discuss the science of solidification and related processes—all within the backdrop of the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains. The technical program comprised more than 70 oral and poster presentations. In addition to content related to modelling of casting, welding, and advanced solidification processes, keynotes were invited to talk about related subjects (artificial intelligence/machine learning, and permeability modelling in shale rock) as well as the rich diversity of fossils, especially dinosaurs, found in Alberta. The oral technical program was organized with as a single session (i.e., no concurrent presentations). It featured all aspects of solidification modelling, including solidification process technologies (continuous and semi-continuous casting, shape casting, additive manufacturing, and welding), coupled multi-physics simulations, defect formation, fluid flow, micro- and macro-structure formation, numerical methods, and related experimentation, especially in-situ observation of solidification. The four-day technical program was spread over five days to give participants the opportunity to explore the stunning Canadian Rocky Mountains. In these proceedings, the papers are organized by major theme. The dominant topics are Additive Manufacturing and Welding and Microstructure Formation, followed by Continuous Casting – Shape Casting, Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow, Alloy Segregation, Defects, Imaging of Solidification, Thermomechanics, and Materials Properties. In these themes, the authors report advances in numerical modelling techniques, new scientific and process developments in solidification, and related in-situ experimentation.Although significant progress has been made over these past 16 MCWASP conferences covering 43 years, it is clear that the complexity of advanced solidification phenomena as related to conventional and emerging manufacturing technologies still attracts a great deal of scientific and industrial interest to support technological innovation.André PhillionBanff, Canada, June 2023MCWASP XVI 2023List of Peer Reviewers, Sponsors, MCWASP XVI Organizers, International Scientific Committee are available in this Pdf.

ABSTRACT

1. Overview of 2nd International Conference on Science in Engineering and Technology - 22nd Sustainable Environment and Architecture (ICoSiET SENVAR 2022)The covid-19 pandemic caused a great shock to people around the world, for it caused a massive scale lockdown in the 21st century. It took millions of lives, affected people's health [1], and created enormous disruption in education systems in more than 200 countries [2]. Furthermore, Covid-19 also account for unprecedented damage to the global economy[3][4], separating people from their loved ones and friends and transforming our built environment in fear of infection[5]. The use of spaces in our living environment then changes dramatically. The lesson should be drawn from this pandemic, for it can never be predicted when the next one will arrive [6]. A future design of the built environment shall be arranged comprehensively. Not only do we have to consider the socio-economic and sustainable living environment, but also how to create a resilient and healthy built environment. Thus, the impact of the pandemic can be minimised through planning, design, structural, physical and technological means. On the other hand, the pandemic introduces a hybrid life to us where a virtual world has become a necessity. Tantalising global challenges in our degradation environment with energy and natural resources depletion force us to have an energy-conscious awareness while providing a safe, healthy, smart and sustainable living environment. The design of the built environment thus should elaborate the virtual world and reality, which involves advanced and robust information and technology not only for the present situation but also for visionary looking to future needs. Therefore, we promote "the Green-Smart Design and Technology for the Present and the Future Built Environment” as the theme for the 2nd International Conference on Science in Engineering and Technology – 22nd Sustainable Environment and Architecture (ICoSiET SENVAR 2022).The ICoSiET SENVAR 2022 is a joint conference to bridge the role of architecture, engineering, and multi-disciplinary field stakeholders in sharing their precious ideas, theories, concepts, designs, research and experiences in creating a better world for all. This conference is hosted by the Architecture Department of Engineering Faculty, Tadulako University. ICoSiET was first organised in 2020 in Palu, Indonesia and then became a biannual conference to provide an academic forum, especially in engineering.Meanwhile, SENVAR is an annual gathering for scientists, scholars, and architects focusing on discussions related to the natural and built environment, such as building design and architecture, outdoor and indoor comfort, local and global green, urban planning and sustainability. SENVAR was first initiated and started by the late Professor Mas Santosa from the Department of Architecture, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in 2000 as a seminar on environmental architecture;in 2011, it changed the name to Sustainable Environment and Architecture [7]. This year we have the privilege to host ICoSiET and SENVAR and combine them into ICoSiET SENVAR 2022, putting two communities in one frame to be blended in the most recent issue of the smart and sustainable built environment.

ABSTRACT

Climate change has led to the increase of heat exposure or natural hazard due to extreme weather. This anthropological climate change phenomenon has negatively altered the most fundamental natural resources for living organism: air, water, and soil. Air has been polluted and warming due to human activities. The quantity of freshwater keeps on depleting, while the ground water recharge intervened with chemical and biological contamination. The sustainability of soil as the natural planting media is under threat due to land use conversion and soil quality degradation. Water acidification and temperature increase have been proved to change the salinity of seawater. Those are the impact of the increasing greenhouse gas emission in the earth's atmosphere. The 8th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC) aims to accommodate and to discuss the regional findings related the adaptation and mitigation strategies on climate change worldwide. The meaning to hold ICCC is getting more and more important. This conference can alert the creeping disaster. The contribution of all the participants, distinguished guests to this conference would make our world better and progress our scientific knowledge. Sharing the insight into the recent research and the cutting-edge technologies should enhance our ability and it might give us the breakthrough ideas on our sustainability under climate change. ICCC would be fruitful for every participant and be a great chance to approach the scientific solution for our common goals.Faculty of Agriculture of Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, Indonesia is very proud to organize the 8th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC). International Conference on Climate Change has been playing a significant contribution to formulate the strategies to cope with the emerged problems due to the climate change, as well as to support the sustainable development goal achievement. Sebelas Maret University has been seriously taking part to minimize the climate change impact, by promoting environment-friend programs, such as the green campus program and prohibiting the motor-vehicle to enter the campus every month. Sebelas Maret University also realizes that the responsibility of maintaining this earth should be by everyone. Each of us plays a significant contribution to minimize the global warming of this earth. That is why Faculty of Agriculture of Sebelas Maret University organize such events to discuss the findings related the earth-protection.We hope this conference will resulting into valuable recommendations in focusing and improving the natural resources management as well as improving the human's living efficiency to bring the greenhouse gas emission down. We need to produce alternative technologies as the climatic resilience strategies to overcome the key climate-change sensitive pathways, as well as to support the achievements some global goals in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Accordingly, the topic of the 8th ICCC is "Environmental Management towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the Changing Climate”.The 8th ICCC was organized by Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University, Indonesia, in collaboration with Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand and The United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Gifu University, Japan. ABSTRACT

The paper proposes a compact-sized coronavirus-shaped Microstrip Patch Antenna (MPA) for wireless communication. A 15-20 GHz band of frequency is employed to analyze the effect of the shape on antenna's performance and characteristics. A low-cost FR4 dielectric substrate is used in the design and implementation of the coronavirus-shaped antenna, with suitable dimensions. The proposed antenna has six patterns depending upon the band of frequencies, and the same have been analyzed. The results show that the realized gain is better than -15 dB when using frequencies around 17 GHz, and total efficiency is about 70%. CST microwave software is used for designing and analysis.

ABSTRACT

The International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation Instrumentation (SRI) is a unique and significant international forum held every three years in the community of synchrotron radiation (SR) and free electron lasers (FEL). It is the prime forum for fostering connections between cutting-edge synchrotron radiation instrumentation, science, and the requirements of the user community. The SRI 2021 had originally been scheduled to take place in Hamburg in summer 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to 2022 and held as an online event.More than 1160 international participants from 25 countries met virtually at the SRI 2021. In nearly 290 talks and 450 posters, latest results were presented. Although it was an online-only conference, lively discussions took place in the nearly 40 parallel sessions, and the eight poster sessions were also very well attended. The main topics of the SRI conference were: new SR and FEL facilities, update plans of these facilities, and recent developments in various instrumentation areas like beamline design, X-ray optics, sample environments, detectors and spectrometers, data acquisition, and data analysis techniques or automation. These innovations contributed to new results for a wide range of experimental techniques and scientific applications such as X-ray scattering and spectroscopy, bio- and scanning imaging, structural biology crystallography, coherent techniques, or in-situ/operando methods. A dedicated session concerned industrial applications of synchrotron radiation. The field of synchrotron radiation instrumentation is currently seeing very active development due to various factors. Firstly, the number of SR sources world-wide is increasing significantly, with new sources in particular in Europe and in Asia. Secondly, a new generation of storage rings with new multi-bend achromat lattices are being implemented at a growing number of existing facilities. These facilities offer a significant increase of brilliance and coherence and thereby lead to new and improved applications of synchrotron radiation, in particular in the areas of imaging and high spatial resolution. Thirdly, the increase of soft and hard X-ray FEL sources worldwide and the maturation of their experimental techniques and scientific applications is the background for a strongly increasing number of developments for ultrafast time-resolved investigations of dynamic behaviour of materials and reactions. Most of the keynote speakers and many invited and contributed talks or posters at the conference showed new results directly related to these three major developments.Lists of International Advisory Committee (listed by facility), Scientific Programme Committee (listed by facility), Local Organising Committee (listed by facility) are available in this PDF.

ABSTRACT

24-25 August, 2022Surakarta, IndonesiaThis conference was held by Research and Development Centre for Biotechnology and Biodiversity (P3BB) Universitas Sebelas Maret in collaboration with:Indonesia Diaspora Network - UnitedFaculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sebelas Maret, IndonesiaFaculty of Art and Design, Universitas Sebelas Maret, IndonesiaFaculty of Economic and Business, Universitas Sebelas Maret, IndonesiaBrief of the meetingInternational Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, abbreviated ICSAE, is a circuit meeting held since 2013. This conference is internationally recognized around the globe for its topic on sustainable agriculture and the environment. As we know, agriculture and the environment are essential for human beings, especially for food resources and other materials needed. It's also not just about food, agriculture, and the environment are involved in economics, politics, design, and many related areas. This year, on August 24-25, 2022, this conference is held online in Surakarta, Indonesia, and is known as ICSAE-9. Sustainable is the keyword in agricultural and environmental management to assure global food security and maintain the high quality of human life. Accordingly, this conference is held to identify ideas, practices, and policies that constitute our concept of sustainable agriculture and the environment. We aim to provide a platform for researchers, academics, and practicing professionals worldwide to present their research and professional development activities in agriculture, environment, food, and other relevant subjects. Two years of the Covid-19 pandemic circumstances have taught us that the online method of delivering the conference effectively broadens the conference participant and disseminates the result. In ICSAE-9, we invite speakers to share their valuable information and knowledge. All the presentation mechanism was done by using the Zoom meeting online platform. There were 4 plenary sessions, 6 rooms for participants to present their specific topics, and a poster session. The ICSAE-9 received 162 papers presented virtually in oral and poster format. Per the presenter, the oral format was allocated for 10 minutes and 5 minutes Q n A, while the posters were presented digitally through the ICSAE website. To be more flexible, all the presentations from the presenter were recorded and uploaded to YouTube. Hence participants (commonly the non-registered ones) that can't attend life can see the presentation in their flexible time. This is also the solution for the participants who don't have a proper internet connection. At last, we would like to thank all the committee and all the participants for their contribution to the ICSAE-9. We do hope we can meet again in the future meeting.ICSAE-9 ChairList of committees are available in this pdf.

ABSTRACT

Landscape is very dynamic [1,2,3]. In line with the development of an increasingly climate change [4] and high population, the dynamics of the landscape have also changed due to an increase in the intensity of the population in utilizing land. The condition of the corona virus pandemic since the beginning of 2020 has resulted in two impacts to the environment. On the one hand it has provided a positive impact in the form of improving environmental conditions due to reduction on population mobility and natural resources exploitation, but on the other hand it has also increased the number of dangerous waste, e.g. increasing mask waste accumulation. The Faculty of Geography Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta-Indonesia, notably the Department of Environmental Geography has been working for a long time on environmental issues. In order to highlight the topic of environmental resource management in the global region and to broaden perspectives on this subject, the Faculty will organize the 4th International Conference on Environmental Resources Management in Global Region (ICERM).List of ICERM 2021 Committee are available in this pdf.
